Chocolate Milk Stout Tasting

Cracked open a bottle of my Chocolate Milk Stout last night. Here are my first thoughts on the beer:

Appearance – Dark brown with a dense tan head suspended above.

Smell – Coffee and milk chocolate. The sweet cocoa powder I used definitely comes through, and is nicely balanced by a hint of coffee.

Taste – The coffee flavor is there upfront, with a sweet cocoa aftertaste. Very clean and smooth. Not sharp or bitter at all.

Mouthfeel – Creamy body, likely due to the lactose sugar. Low carbonation. Wouldn’t mind if it was slightly more carbonated.

Drinkability & Notes – This went down easy. If I measured correctly, this beer is 10% ABV, which is much stronger than I anticipated. Overall, I was very happy with the way it turned out. Can’t wait to pour this beer over a couple scoops of ice cream.
